St Edward the Confessor serves the villages of Westcote Barton and Middle Barton, and is part of the Benefice of Westcote Barton with Steeple Barton, Duns Tew and Sandford St Martin, and Over with Nether Worton

It is a small church seating about 65 people.  The columns are Norman and it has a fine 15th century rood screen.
